If you’ve ever wanted to show off your skill at demolishing structures populated by nefarious green pigs in Angry Birds 2, you can now. YouTube Gaming has expanded its game streaming capabilities to mobile devices, which means that your mobile escapades can now be broadcast live to followers.
However, the updated YouTube Gaming app will support only Android devices for now (sorry, iOS users). Since its official rollout in late August, both Android and iOS users have been able to watch their favorite desktop streamers on their mobile phones, but direct mobile livestreaming support is quite a different beast altogether.
To get started, you just need to download the YouTube Gaming app from Google Play and hit the “Go Live” button in the app itself. Alternatively, you can tap on your avatar to begin streaming. The app even makes use of your phone’s front camera and microphone to allow you to record yourself and your own commentary, putting it more or less level with the desktop version.
Like all streams from desktop, your broadcast will also be automatically saved as a YouTube video after you stop streaming. So that time you achieved an all-time high score on Flappy Bird? Your grandchildren will be able to see it.
But mobile game streaming is just one of many changes in the latest YouTube Gaming app. New features include UI tweaks to make it easier to see when there are live streams for games in your collection, and more intuitive video bookmarking with the “Watch Later” feature. Performance has also been improved on the Web, along with a redesigned watch page.
A new fan funding and sponsorship program has also been rolled out to allow fans and viewers to support their favorite content creators. The program is now in beta with a small group of creators.

Users can opt for either a one-time donation (fan funding) or monthly payments (sponsorship) to help out creators. In addition, sponsors will receive recognition for their contributions in the form of a special live chat badge and exclusive chat sessions.
