According to IGN, Nintendo has decided to stop production of the Nintendo NES Classic Edition game console for North America. The company said the TV game console wasn’t meant to be a permanent offering, and the decision to stop production will also apply to the NES Classic Controller.

The Nintendo NES Classic Edition was launched in November 2016 to much fanfare; however, the reboot of its classic TV game console was in short supply, even as Nintendo claimed extra supplies were shipped to retailers to meet customer demand. According to IGN, the TV game console will still be shipped to retailers in the United States for the month of April for this year.

As for the console’s third party accessories, Nintendo will let the manufacturers decide for themselves on whether to carry on production. In Singapore, it’s hard-pressed to see the Nintendo NES Classic Edition on retail shelves but the game console is still available on Lazada (for now). So it might be a good time for you to pick up the TV game console before the company decides to stop its production entirely.
