New Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree trailer reveals the "tyranny of Messmer's flame"

As the release date for Elden Ring’s first DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree draws near, Bandai Namco is giving fans a treat with a new story trailer that raises more intriguing questions about the game’s lore.
From developer FromSoftware, who are known for their cryptic storytelling, the DLC will transport players once again to the Land of Shadow – which is populated by new horrors imagined by game director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The trailer shines a spotlight on Miquella, a mysterious figure encased in an egg with a withered arm in the original game whom we only know is the elder twin brother of Malenia. Another character introduced is Messmer, a fiery-haired individual who seems to hold significant sway over the fate of the Land of Shadow in the trailer. It remains to be seen if Messmer ends up being the DLC’s final boss, but as fans of FromSoftware’s games will tell you, we can expect twists and turns in the game’s narrative.
Shadow of Erdtree will be available on 21 June on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The DLC is also available for pre-order on Bandai Namco's e-store.
