Ubisoft has announced a new major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, titled Dawn of Ragnarok. The expansion launches on 10 March, 2022 and takes players deep into the world of Norse Mythology - much like another game launching the same year.

Dawn of Ragnarok comes from Ubisoft Sofia, as part of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second year of DLC support. This expansion continues Eivor’s story as they’re forced to confront their destiny as the Nordic deity Odin, god of battle and wisdom. In Svartalfheim, the kingdom of dwarves, chaos rules as Odin’s favoured son Baldr is captured by the fire giant Surtr.

Dawn of Ragnarok’s gameplay will be a little different than the main campaign, as players are getting new divine powers to play with as they adventure across a mythological world. It’s much more fantasy-based than the main campaign, although we have taken trips to Asgard as Eivor before.

In addition to this, Ubisoft has also announced Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories - consisting of two free DLC stories featuring Eivor from Valhalla and Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. One story featuring Eivor and Kassandra will be available in Valhalla, as Kassandra had been made immortal over the course of Odyssey’s story. She and her male counterpart Aleksios will still be playable in the second DLC story, which is now available in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Anyone who buys Valhalla’s expansion Dawn of Ragnarok from 13 December, 2021 to 9 April, 2022 will receive the Twilight Pack DLC and have immediate access to the main game. The DLC largely consists of cosmetic skins and some gear. Dawn of Ragnarok launches on 10 March, 2022, but the Crossover Stories with Eivor and Kassandra are already playable starting today.
