Net Cafe Owners in Korea Are Banding Together to Sue Blizzard

Net cafe owners in Korea are fed up with Blizzard's continual server problems, appalling lack of customer service and are banding together to consider filing a class action suit against Blizzard.

It's no secret that Diablo 3 has had its share of teething issues and recent reports of mass hacking of Diablo 3 accounts didn't help restore gamers' confidence in the company. According to reports, the Diablo 3 Asia server still suffers from continual problems and this has led net cafes in Korea to consider filing a class action suit against Blizzard. To this end, the Korean Internet PC Culture Association (IPCA) recently launched a website titled "Diablo III Damage Lawsuit".

Although net cafes in Korea were given copies of Diablo 3 to install for free, they must pay royalties from June 2 onwards. Continual server outage is causing potential customers to shy away from playing Diablo 3 in net cafes, resulting in a loss of business.

IPCA leader, Kim Chan-kuen has this to say:

"Korea accounts for a large percentage of Blizzard's total revenue, and considering how much domestic users contribute to the firm's profit, its consumer services are severely disappointing," IPCA head Kim Chan-kuen told The Korea Times.

We are planning a class action lawsuit against Blizzard Korea, as users and PC room owners are suffering from constant server malfunctions and server check-ups for Diablo III while the company avoids responsibility."

Most recently, the entire Asia server was down the entire weekend as Blizzard worked to fix a bug where players could duplicate items, which could potentially wreck the entire game's economy.
