Logitech has announced the successor to the G915 Lightspeed. Aptly named the G915 X Lightspeed, the low profile keyboard stands at just 23mm high while featuring several upgrades over its predecessor.

First, the build quality. The aluminium top plate thickness has been increased from 1.2mm to 1.5mm which should help to improve the keyboard’s structural strength and contribute to a better typing experience.

The G915 X also features a redesigned switch with a Polyoxymethylene (POM), cross-style stem, replacing the original hook-style stem, which should help to improve key stability and result in a quieter typing experience. The actuation point has also been reduced from 1.5mm to 1.3mm allowing for a quicker key response.

Connectivity-wise, the G915 X keyboard features Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless technology, Bluetooth, and USB-C connectivity. Battery life for the keyboard has also improved without compromising performance. Logitech says that the full-sized version offers up to 800 hours of use with backlighting off, and up to 36 hours of continuous use at 100% RGB brightness with Lightspeed mode. On the other hand, the TKL version lasts up to 1000 hours without lighting and 42 hours at full brightness.

Other notable features of the G915 X series are the Keycontrol feature that allows users to turn any key into a macro, double-shot, as well as shine-through PBT keycaps for improved durability and resistance to daily wear and tear.
