The Last of Us Part II's next media stop gets a date
It's definitely not the last one.
As most gamers would know, 2013's The Last of Us was one of the best post-apocalyptic zombie titles, receiving various awards for gameplay, story and many other aspects. So, it's only natural that a sequel would make waves too, right?
Well, Canadian video game journalist and television presenter Geoff Keighley has now given those waves a concrete date. Previously, developer Naughty Dog had teased an upcoming media event for The Last of Us Part II, where they would supposedly release more gameplay footage, trailers and related news.

But true to their company name, they toyed with everyone's feelings by not including a date. Wait, on second thought, that's far beyond just being "naughty" - "cruel" seems more like it (in a light-hearted way, of course).
But their little mystery ends today. According to Keighley's tweet, the media event is set to occur in Los Angeles, California on the 24th of September. Mark your calendars; this'll be one to remember.
Anyway, from what we know about the sequel, a grown-up Ellie takes over the wheel as the main protagonist of the game, which is reportedly set five years after the original. Joel is nowhere to be found; and there's a healthy amount of speculation that he's dead, or worse still, is actually the antagonist.
Regardless, Ellie already looks like a proper badass in the E3 trailer above, so if that's anything to go by, Naughty Dog is really going to send us flying with The Last of Us Part II.
