This collaboration also marks the first time a Malaysian sports figure has been featured in a mobile game.

The character reskin, now available following an update, is modelled after Datuk Lee's likeness and is used for the game character Han Xin. Players can obtain the exclusive skin for free by participating in various in-game challenges:

  • Inviting new friends to play Honor of Kings, which will earn you 50-500 tokens that are used for redeeming said character's skin
  • Logging in to claim the initial reward of 120 tokens
  • Completing daily check-ins for 30 tokens
  • Playing matches with friends to get 55 tokens

Once 1,000 tokens are accumulated through these activities, players can redeem the skin.

The release follows the recent introduction of a Silat-themed skin for the character Lam, further demonstrating Honor of King’s commitment to supporting cultural diversity and representation within its global MOBA game.

If you’re currently in Malaysia's capital (Kuala Lumpur), Honor of Kings is hosting a special event at Pavilion Bukit Bintang (Google Maps link). Fans who visit the Lee Chong Wei 3D display and take a video or selfie with it can win a signed jersey from Datuk Lee himself, along with other various in-game rewards.

The choice to feature Lee Chong Wei, an Olympic triple-silver medalist and Malaysia's national icon, aligns with the character of Han Xin in the game. Both figures are known for their humble beginnings, resilience, and determination to excel in their respective fields despite the odds.

However, Datuk Lee is better known for his badminton skills, while the in-game character wields an anti-calvary polearm. The in-game character is based on a real-life historical figure who founded the Han Dynasty, and was pivotal during the Three Kingdoms period as an ally of Liu Bei.
