Honkai: Star Rail is seeing a new landmark update with Version 3.0, set to release on 15 January. The highlight of the update, titled "Paean of Era Nova", is a new world that the Astral Express is embarking towards, that being the chaotic and isolated planet of Amphoreus.
Much of this new planet seems to be Greek-inspired. Rather than the Aeons, which are the deities of Honkai: Star Rail's universe, residents of this world, unaware of the rest of the outside universe, worship so-called "Titans", of which there are 12 of them. A feature of Amphoreus's setting is its eternal night, brought about by a "black tide", which, coupled with a civil war amongst the Titans, has consumed the planet.
With such an ambitious story, HoYoverse is touting Amphoreus's storyline to be the longest in Honkai: Star Rail yet, releasing in two parts across Versions 3.0 to 3.7. By and large, the Trailblaze Mission will see the Trailblazer, accompanied by Dan Heng, exploring various regions of Amphoreus, including a region called the Abyss of Fate, where they will meet the Titan of Time, the cities of Okhema and Castrum Kremnos, within which resides their own Titans, and the Vortex of Genesis, the sanctuary of the 12 Titans.

Version 3.0 also introduces new characters to pull for. The first of these is The Herta, not to be confused with the already-playable Herta. The 5-star character is an Ice-Type Erudition character with a focus on AoE damage. Through an ability called "Interpretation", The Herta, and ally characters, are able to multiply attack damage. The second introduced in Version 3.0 is Aglaea, a 5-star Remembrance character which, through her summonable memosprite Garmentmaker, incorporates a "duet dance aesthetic" in combat. This joint attack mechanism increases Garmentmaker's speed stat, and also "adds a new layer of rhythm and variability to combat", according to HoYoverse.
Of course, if you're a Trailblazer main, you won't be feeling left out, as Version 3.0 unlocks the Remembrance path for the character.
Returning characters in the first half of Version 3.0 include 5-star characaters Lingsha, Feixiao and Jade, while the second half of Version 3.0 will see the return of Boothill, Robin and Silver Wolf. Finally, March 7th will be getting a new outfit, which can be claimed after unlocking the "Characters" function and logging in during Version 3.0's release.
