With the ongoing legal feud between Epic Games, Apple and Google taking up most of the community's attention for the past two weeks, it's easy to forget about the many other important events on the calendar. For example, there's the Gamescom Opening Night Live, which is set to take place at 1:30am, 28 Aug

The two and a half hour livestream will be hosted by industry veteran Geoff Keighley, and features a really loaded assortment of gameplay reveals, news and updates, including the official reveal for 2020's Call of Duty title, Black Ops - Cold War

While Treyarch and newcomer Raven's first-person shooter entry are undoubtedly the biggest headliner, the four-day online convention, which lasts from 27-30 Aug has much more to offer than that. Noteworthy candidates, according to the official Twitter page, include fellow FPS title Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond as well as world gameplay premieres of the much-hyped Star Wars: Squadrons and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart (this one's on PS5 too!), among others.

For those who love good music (which should be all of us, right?) you might want to play particular attention to the ONL theme. If it sounds like something Linkin Park might come up with, you're not far off the mark, because it is in fact composed by band member Mike Shinoda, and as Keighley mentions in a tweet, "he hit it out of the park". Seems like we're in for something pretty spectacular.

Last but not least, don't fret if your daily grind leaves you way too exhausted to catch the stream - we'll be covering the various releases as they come, so make sure to check back with us!
