We finally have an answer to the question: Can your Nintendo Switch run Crysis?

Remember how we used to joke about Crysis melting GPUs? Well, now it’s going to run on the Nintendo Switch.

Crytek has released a ‘Nintendo Switch Tech Trailer’, showing off everything the developer has managed to cram into Crysis Remastered. They’re clearly proud of even the smallest details, like ‘vegetation bending’ and gyro aiming. To be fair, the latter makes this a pretty tempting buy.

There are a whole bunch of neat features included in the Switch’s version of Crysis Remastered. Destructible environments, dynamic lighting, voxel-based global illumination, light rays and sunbeams, enhanced lighting, ‘maximum explosions’ and even sharks are all in. Although Switch players are bound to get the most stripped-down version of the game at the end of the day, this seems pretty feature-complete.

The game was recently delayed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, due to an extremely poor fan reception towards a leaked trailer. The game was largely criticised for looking visually lacklustre, and not much of an upgrade compared to the original Crysis. For now, the novelty of playing this GPU-melting game on the Nintendo Switch will have to do.

Crysis Remastered will launch on Nintendo Switch on July 23, 2020.
