If you've never had the chance to play some of the older Grand Theft Auto instalments like GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, then there's no time like the present, because Rockstar Games has just rolled out the Grand Theft Auto: the Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

The bundle, which is currently available for purchase for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, was released as part of GTA 3's 20th Anniversary celebrations, and Rockstar has noted that iOS and Android versions will be added sometime in the first half of 2022. Additionally, if you'd prefer to pick up a physical copy, you can also do so starting from 7 Dec, although it will only be available for the PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Meanwhile, those who have subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass will be able to play GTA: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition starting today, with its GTA 3 counterpart scheduled to be added on 7 Dec. No word has yet been provided for the Vice City instalment.

These three games introduced a lot of concepts that formed the foundation for the franchise as it is today, and  they really expanded on what players could (and should) expect from such open-world titles. On top of taking these games for a spin, players will also be able to test out modern enhancements like GTA V-style controls, higher resolution textures, enhanced lighting and more dynamic weather. All of them will also include platform-specific enhancements like Gyro aiming on the Switch, NVIDIA DLSS support for PC and even 4K resolution support for up to 60fps on PlayStation consoles.
