No, that's not an alien spaceship - that's the brand-new Alienware Aurora R11 gaming desktop, one of four new additions to the Alienware family announced by Dell Technologies last week. However, what makes it the stand-out here is that it is the only desktop in the quartet, and the others are actually three gaming monitors - the Alienware 25, 27 and 38. Now, we'll get to them in a bit, but for now, let's keep our eyes at this quirky new desktop.

Although its sci-fi inspired exterior implies it's designed mainly for gaming, the Aurora R11 is actually tailored for gamers and creators. Specs-wise, it sports custom-engineered NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs (specifically, the 3080 and 3090) and up to 10th Gen Intel Core i9 10900KF processors straight off the bat, and the toolless chassis makes upgrading a breeze if you still need some extra punch.

Effective cooling is arguably an integral part of enjoying today's games and media content, and Dell has come up with some pretty interesting stuff to ensure the Aurora R11 is able to keep itself chill and your experiences seamless. Check them out.

  • Quad 10mm Copper Heat Pipes: The new thermal design includes quad 10mm copper heat pipes with integrated vapour chambers. This provides exceptional gaming performance and is the company’s largest diameter heat pipe design to date.
  • Innovative airflow control: The way air moves through the card is unique in itself; it is another Alienware first that includes a dual axial fan design with positive rear pressure relief. This allows heat to escape from specially located vents, helping to aid with the flow and thermal management.
  • Space-efficient GPUs: These custom graphics cards have been designed to maximise space. They are short (measuring 267mm in length), cover 2.5x PCI slots (vs. 3) and offer 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors.

Meanwhile, the new monitors are no slouch either. For those who prefer conventional flat screen monitors, you'll want to check out the Alienware 25 and 27.

The former is a 24.5-inch monitor that features the world’s fastest refresh rate of 360Hz,1ms grey to grey response time, FHD resolution and the all-new NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, which provides a more complete and comprehensive measurement of the setup and its performance. It's also fully compatible with the existing Alienware ecosystem, especially mice like the Alienware AW610M, AW510M and AW310M.
