Gigabyte shows off its new Waterforce cooler, the GV-N980X3WA-4GD
While the GV-N980X3WA-4GD moniker may seem like an excessive product designation, that's actually the least excessive thing about the Waterforce cooling system. Wait till you see what it's powered by!
You'll be set for years to come with a setup like this.
Proving that overkill never goes out of style is the Gigabyte Waterforce cooler, complete with its own radiator. While the Waterforce cooler isn't exactly new, this version of it is. Powered by 3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980s in SLI, there's pretty much nothing the Waterforce can't run.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980s each have a base clock of 1228MHz (though they can be boosted up to 1329MHz), 4GB of GDDR5 RAM (for a total of 12GB if SLI'd) and a 256-bit memory bus.
Gigabyte's Flex Display technology will also be used to determine how many displays the cards are hooked up to automatically and output to them. You can mix and match output sources however you want and the Flex Display tech will sort it out for you without any issue.
We haven't seen the Waterforce in action personally, so we can't really give a verdict on it. What we do know though is that it's HUGE.
It not only eats up space in the tower, but also a drive bay AND on top of the tower.
Make sure you have ample room in your case if you want to hook up the Waterforce to your rig.
