Delta Force, an online tactical shooter that's been in alpha for some time and which recently had a closed technical test, is now open for PC players through its multiplayer PC Open Beta. Developed by Team Jade, it's the newest entry in the dormant Delta Force tactical shooter series, which has not seen a new game in 15 years.
Garena is the face behind Delta Force's Southeast Asian release. The free-to-play first-person shooter takes place in the near future of 2035, and begins its first season, 'Genesis', with this Open Beta. It currently features two gameplay modes:
- Warfare, a large-scale mode that supports up to 64 players in a 32v32 match, taking place in a chaotic battlefield where players are separated into squads of four. Vehicles such as tanks and aircraft are also available in this mode.
- Operations, an extraction shooter mode where players collaborate to gather supplies and reach the extraction point in a time limit, keeping the supplies they get if they succeed.
The game sees you take the perspective of an 'Operator' for the Global Threat Initiative, a peacekeeping organisation. It gives you four roles to choose from, including:
- Assault, which focuses on frontline combat.
- Engineer, a vechicular combat-focused class that can destroy enemy vehicles while repairing allied ones.
- Support, a healing-based class that can also disrupt enemies.
- Recon, an intelligence-gathering and communications class.
Different roles also get access to different equipment; Recon has long-range rifles, while Engineers have access to heavy weapons.

Players who enter the Open Beta now can also claim an exclusive 'Epic Weapon Skin' for the K416 rifle called 'Competition'. Meanwhile, pre-registration for the mobile versions of Delta Force has also opened up here, with rewards available. Delta Force features cross-progression for its mobile and PC versions, so your progress will be saved when you hop between platforms (no cross-platform play, though; PC and mobile matchmaking will remain separate).
You can download Delta Force for PC now through its official website here (though it's also available through Steam and will be available through the Epic Games Store). A single-player/co-op campaign titled 'Black Hawk Down', taking inspiration from 2003's Delta Force: Black Hawk Down is also in the works and is slated to release next year.
