Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer unveiled: Sequel to Remake coming to PlayStation 5 in early 2024
The one-winged Angel is coming.
During the recent Summer Game Fest Live show, Square Enix treated fans to an intriguing new gameplay trailer for the eagerly awaited Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This sequel to the acclaimed remake of the legendary RPG, Final Fantasy VII, is slated for release on PlayStation 5 in early 2024.
The trailer offered a tantalising glimpse into the mysterious plot elements, dynamic combat, and sprawling world of the sequel. Following the successful launch of the Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020, Rebirth marks the second chapter in this ambitious remake project. This project is breathing new life into the iconic fantasy game saga, which originally set a new standard for the RPG genre back in the late 90s when it debuted on the original PlayStation console.

The trailer also indicated that the game will be divided across two discs.
Scenes from the trailer reveal familiar faces such as Cloud and the crew exploring verdant landscapes, visiting what appears to be Cosmo Canyon, and confronting formidable adversaries. Yuffie, a character reintroduced in the Final Fantasy VII Remake’s DLC, also made an appearance.
Square Enix has been stirring anticipation for the game with a series of teaser tweets over the past few days. These messages have confirmed the introduction of new characters, a more expansive world, and additional music, with the promise of more revelations to come.
