Arkane Studios’ second studio in Austin, Texas has finally revealed their new game - and it’s full of bloodsucking vampires! Honestly, I don’t know what I expected. This comes from the creators of Dishonored, Prey and Deathloop. While the latter hasn’t been released yet, the former two games are excellent enough to make us extremely excited for this studio's new multiplayer title.
Watch the announcement trailer for Redfall below:

Redfall pulls players into a dystopian open-world environment, where they'll have to team up with other players in co-op multiplayer and take down vampires. The trailer shows off a city controlled by these monsters, but a quirky and inexplicably colour-coded group of survivors are hellbent to beat these creatures back and win back their town. The game is also confirmed to be playable solo, in case you don’t have any friends. I didn’t mean to push any buttons there, but it had to be said.
The game seems to be a cross between Borderlands and Left4Dead. You play as different survivors who come with unique powers and weapons, making this something like a hero-shooter with PvE gameplay against vampiric enemies. We got a glimpse of some of these abilities in the trailer - one woman threw up a massive purple umbrella, while a vampire shot a huge red harpoon at our heroes. Who knows, maybe you’ll be able to play as the vampires too?
The town you’re trying to protect is Redfall, Massachusetts, hence the title. Arkane is known for making great games with complex level design, immersive sim gameplay and unique abilities - so this looks like a mix-and-match of all their strongest points in the multiplayer arena. The game launches in Summer 2022 on Xbox consoles and PC.
