Diablo IV is ushering in the lunar new year with the return of its Lunar Awakening event. The seasonal event saw its first run in 2024, and this year it'll span from 5 to 18 February.
Similar to last year, a key aspect of the event includes new Lunar Shrines, which will replace the game's normal Shrines during the duration of the event. When activated, players can get a 100% experience bonus for two minutes (a bigger buff than last year). Activating the Lunar Shrines will also spawn Miserly Spirits, enemies that allow you to use the buffs granted by the shrines.

Different Lunar Shrines grant different special abilities. They range from enhanced offensive effects, such as the Artillery Shrine, where casts now have the chance to summon a holy bomb, to buffs like the Channeling Shrine, which, once activated increases attack speed and has a chance of resetting cooldowns. More unique shrines include the Greed Shrine, where kills can summon a Treasure Goblin.
Activating the shrines and killing enemies can also earn Ancestral Favor Reputation, a new Battle Pass-like XP bar for the event. There are 10 total Ancestral Favor levels, each with their own rewards, including new cosmetics.
You can head to the northern part of Ked Bardu to meet with Ying-Yue, the head of the Lunar Night Market, where you can redeem these new items (called 'Unceasing Gifts') through your Ancestral Favor Reputation.

In addition to rewards that can be earned in-game, new cosmetic items themed after the Lunar Awakening are also available in Tejal's shop (though being micro-transactions, these will cost real money). They include a new Dragon of the Lonely Moon mount, as well as Armor Cosmetics.
The Lunar Awakening event runs from 5 to 18 February.
