Capcom has announced a remastered edition of the 2006 zombie action classic, Dead Rising.

Powered by Capcom’s RE ENGINE, the publisher promises to breathe new life into the franchise with modern quality of life features such as 4K resolution and 60fps support. In the game, players take on the role of photojournalist Frank West, as he navigates a zombie-infested shopping mall in the town of Willamette.

Besides the graphical upgrades, the remaster introduces several notable improvements too, including uninterrupted radio calls during combat and the ability to perform actions while on calls. Capcom also teased deeper introductions to fan favourite characters, including DHS agents Brad Garrison and Jessie McCarney, as well as the mysterious Russell Barnaby.

Last but not least, Dead Rising remastered edition will also retain the series’ dark humour, over-the-top combat, and a wide array of improvised weapons and wacky costumes. Players can also expect to encounter the "Psychopath" boss characters, adding an additional layer of difficulty to the game.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is available for pre-order now and is set to launch on 19 September for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. A physical release for PlayStation 5 will follow on 8 November.
