The Oldest House is full of strange things.

Remedy Entertainment’s action-adventure game Control is getting a, “bigger-budget,” sequel and a spin-off game. The twist? That spin-off game will be a 4-player multiplayer co-op game. It’s a fairly strange turn for a story-driven game like Control, but there you go.

In a blog post titled ‘The Future of Control’, Remedy talked about its new deal with publisher 505 Games and the games it has in development. In the post, they revealed Condor: a 4-player PvE game that takes place in the world of Control. Franchise game director Mikael Kasurinen wrote:

We get that there is going to be skepticism about multiplayer. But I believe we can create shared experiences without compromising the unique DNA of who we are, or the stories we want to tell. Yes, we need to re-think our angles, our techniques, our mindset, but we see it as an exciting challenge: What would a Remedy multiplayer game look like?

We also got new concept art for Condor, which you can check out below:

For now, we’re not sure what Condor even looks like, but chances are that we will return to the Oldest House to fight supernatural threats just like the original game. We just won't be doing it alone this time. Remedy and 505 Games are also planning, “to further expand the Control franchise with a bigger-budget Control-game," though the game is in early development.

Kasurinen stresses that, “It is going to be a long time,” before the studio shows off these projects however, so expect an even longer wait until they’re released. For now, we’ll just have to wonder what a multiplayer Control game looks like - and whether the sequel will have more tie-ins to Alan Wake!
