Capcom's leaks confirmed a Resident Evil 3 remake is in the works

Three posters for the game have been leaked, along with an in-game screenshot of Jill Valentine.

Rumours of a Resident Evil 3 remake have been popping up quite a bit recently, but new leaked images have sealed the deal. Recent datamining of the PlayStation Network have uncovered what seem to be official posters for a remake of Resident Evil 3.

Featured prominently on these images are lead protagonists Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira, with an ominous-looking Nemesis lurking behind them. If you’re unfamiliar with Nemesis, he’s essentially a bigger, badder Mr X (Tyrant), with a minigun and rocket launcher.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was originally released by Capcom in 1999, and is a prime candidate for a remake - considering that developers could just reuse multiple assets from the Resident Evil 2 Remake this year. Both games are set in Racoon City after all, around the same time.

A tweet from user Nibel shows off Jill’s updated character model:

The game also had multiple endings depending on the player’s choices - though it remains to be seen if the remake will incorporate this mechanic. We’ll probably see it get revealed either at the upcoming Game Awards, or Jump Festa 2020 - where Capcom will have two mystery games playable

Personally, my excitement is through the roof. Resident Evil 2 Remake was hands down my favourite game of the year, and I have no doubt Capcom will do its sequel justice.
