Apple Arcade's library of games is getting quite a few big bangs next month, headlined by the anticipated arrival of Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE on 3 April. This marks the first original Katamari title in almost eight years, and fans of the whimsical rolling gameplay are set for a refreshingly familiar yet distinctively modern experience. Bandai Namco's beloved series, famous for its charmingly absurd premise, tasks players once again with rolling up objects at the whimsical command of the ever-eccentric King of All Cosmos.

While still maintaining its quirky gameplay and style, Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE gets a modern twist – players will expand their Katamari through engaging with a 'live stream' hosted by the king himself. As the Katamari grows by collecting items around various colourful landscapes, the player's virtual audience expands, complete with live commentary from in-game spectators. It’s a very clever integration of modern digital culture into Katamari's established gameplay formula.

Katamari isn't the only familiar face appearing on Apple Arcade this April. Classic gaming fans can look forward to Taito’s Space Invaders Infinity Gene Evolve and Atari’s iconic RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic+, revamped specifically for iOS devices.

3 April can’t come soon enough.
