AGON PRO by AOC has unveiled two high-performance gaming monitors for the esports segment.
First there's the AG246FK that features a whopping 540Hz refresh rate coupled with a fast TN LCD panel. On paper, this combination should deliver superb motion clarity and responsiveness during gaming sessions.
For those seeking the standard refresh rate used in professional tournaments, the AG256FS offers a 390Hz refresh rate. This model combines high-speed performance with a Fast IPS panel to ensure smooth and sharp gameplay without compromising image quality.

Both models feature DisplayHDR 400 and Adaptive-Sync for tear-free gaming. Ports wise, the monitors include connectivity options such as HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.3, and USB 3.2 ports. Additional features include Light FX, MBR Sync, a visual overlay for a sniper scope, and a gamma booster.
While the 540Hz refresh rate of the AG246FK sounds amazing, the practical benefits are very unlikely to be noticeable from monitors with lower refresh rates (but above 120Hz). If you already own a monitor that can output at least 120Hz, the jump to 540Hz may offer diminishing returns in terms of perceptible improvements in gameplay. Even if you have a sharp eye, the ability to discern differences at such high refresh rates is limited, and higher refresh rates will just translate to negligible real-world advantages.
Though pricing and availability are currently unavailable, they will be showcased at the upcoming AOC Masters 2024 Valorant Tournament in October at the Thailand Game Show.
