Blizzard Entertainment has just announced a major update for Diablo IV dubbed Season of the Infernal Hordes

The update is now live and sees a variety of gameplay and content updates including a new wave-based mode called the Infernal Hordes. This mode will see players face off against a seemingly endless number of waves of demonic enemies, with each wave lasting for a minute. The Infernal Hordes will be available on both Seasonal and Eternal realms, becoming accessible after players complete a specific questline in World Tier III.

Once unlocked, players can play this mode either in solo or with friends. Between waves, players will have the opportunity to select "Infernal Offerings," which increase both the difficulty and the potential rewards, allowing for a variety of runs to be made based on your skills and abilities.

At the end of each Infernal Hordes run, players will face off against the Fell Council, a group of corrupted priests. Once beaten, players can use the Burning Aether to unlock rewards which include summoning materials, items with a guaranteed Greater Affix, and more.

If you're looking for a taste of what to expect in the new Infernal Hordes mode, new Hellbreach Dungeons will appear within the Seasonal Realm, allowing players to fight against infernal enemies. Once completed, players are rewarded with Burning Aether which can be used to purchase chests at the end of the Hellbreach Dungeon.

Other than the new game mode, the update also sees the introduction of over 50 new Unique and Legendary items, giving players more options for character builds.

A new Battle Pass accompanies the season, featuring 90 reward tiers. Of these, 28 tiers are free, while the remaining 62 are premium tiers offering additional cosmetic items, in-game currency, and other rewards.

Season of the Infernal hordes is now live and more information regarding the update can be found on the official blog page here.
