The sixth annual Game Awards has just gone down at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The awards show honours the best of the best in gaming this year (and a little bit of last year), but most importantly - it shows off a bunch of new trailers!
This year, we had tons of new game reveals and trailers - from games like Ghost of Tsushima and The Wolf Among Us 2 to Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake! Let’s run down the list, in order of showing:
Birds of Prey

Before we dive into the games shown off at the show - Harley Quinn also crashed the party, revealing a short new sneak peek at Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming movie.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: X-Men Rise of the Phoenix

This is the second set of DLC to be added to the game post-release, this time adding a bunch of new characters: Phoenix, Gambit, Iceman and Cable - all classic X-Men characters, and a great excuse to dive back into the game’s massive roster of Marvel heroes! This DLC arrives on December 23, 2019.
Maneater

Do you like sharks? Do you like people? Why not be a shark - and eat people? It’s a win-win situation!
Humankind

Humankind, developed by Amplitude Studios, is a historical strategy game where players can rewrite the entire course of humanity’s history - creating a civilisation that is unique to them alone. The game will be released sometime in 2020.
No More Heroes 3

In one of the most beautiful bait-and-switches of the entire show, this trailer starts out by teasing a mysterious new game - ‘Goddamn Superhero’. I mean, in hindsight - what other game could be this weird? No More Heroes 3 will come out sometime in 2020.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Future game of the year contender incoming. Final Fantasy 7 Remake gets another trailer, and although it doesn’t reveal much that we don’t already know, it’s got some pretty great music. Cloud Strife thinks this is a one-time gig - poor guy doesn’t have a clue. The game will come out on March 3, 2020.
Xbox Series X

Microsoft’s big next-generation console finally gets a name - Xbox Series X. The console will be released in ‘holiday 2020’ - probably around November and December. By the way - Xbox Series X, really? Who comes up with these names? The internet has already started calling it Xbox Sex.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

This is the second game to show off Xbox Series X’s next-gen technology after Halo Infinite, and boy does it show. Ninja Theory, who made the first Hellblade and DMC are developing this sequel - and if the trailer is anything to go by, it’s going to be as chilling as its predecessor. This was probably one of the best surprises of the whole show!
Godfall

Godfall on the other hand, is the very first game we’ve seen advertised for the PlayStation 5. This comes from Gearbox Software, the developers behind the Borderlands games. Where Borderlands is a looter shooter, Godfall is described as a ‘looter slasher’. Unfortunately, we don’t have much more to go on just yet.
Bravely Default 2

This one is a bit confusing. Bravely Default was first a popular RPG on the Nintendo 3DS, which then got a sequel called Bravely Second: End Layer. Strangely, this is also a sequel to the original Bravely Default - and while it does have a pretty art style, fans can’t be sure what exactly this game is yet.
Warframe: Empyrean

Warframe’s massive new expansion is out right now! I love this new trend of dropping huge things with no prior announcements. With Empyrean, you can get into co-op spaceship dogfights and much, much more - so why not hop in? I’ve poured hundreds of hours into this game already, but this is a good excuse to jump back in for more. Warning: the expansion is only out for PC players at the moment. A release date for consoles hasn’t been revealed yet.
Magic: The Gathering - Theros: Beyond Death

This cinematic trailer reveals that a whopping 350 new cards will soon be added to both tabletop and Arena with the Theros: Beyond Death card set. Go nuts, Magic players!
PlayerUnknown’s Prologue

You read that right - the PUBG creator is teasing his next big game - though this trailer doesn’t reveal much. The website says, “Prologue is an exploration of new technologies and gameplay. Our aim with this game is to give players unique and memorable experiences, each and every time they play.” Seems like PlayerUnknown is trying something new this time around.
Sons of the Forest

In case you didn’t know, this is a sequel to The Forest - a survival game with nonlinear gameplay in an open world environment. The sequel seems to follow the same path, with some extremely pretty graphics and tense enemy encounters.
Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

League of Legends developer Riot Games have announced their next singleplayer game set in the League of Legends universe - Ruined King. This is a turn-based RPG set after Burning Tides, where players control Champions as they explore Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

Sure, this is a really, really weird trailer - but D&D fans will no doubt go wild over it all the same. This is a spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance from Wizards of the Coast and developer Tuque Games, with co-operative gameplay.
Apex Legends: Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash event

If it isn’t already obvious, this is Apex Legends’ holiday event! This event adds an all-new game mode along with a whole bunch of skins, challenges and a town takeover. The event is on right now, and will run until January 7. There’s a double XP event happening this weekend, so jump in!
Ori and the Will of the Wisps

This is just one of those games that will obviously be good. The first Ori game captured the hearts of so many with powerful and emotional storytelling, alongside some really breathtaking visuals for an indie game. The sequel looks just as good - if not even better.
Weird West

This isometric game is a strange and supernatural take on the wild west, with action-oriented gameplay and RPG gameplay. Fun on a bun!
Magic: Legends

Magic: The Gathering is making an MMO! This trailer doesn’t reveal much, but we do know that this is an action-RPG MMO where players control a Planeswalker.
Path of the Warrior

This is a game for the Oculus Quest - where players can get into bar fights. That’s it. Punch people, that’s the game!
Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima seems to be Sony Interactive Entertainment’s last big PlayStation 4 exclusive game. This trailer shows off the game’s stunning graphics, along with some truly bloody gameplay. It also revealed a rough release date; Summer 2020, which could be any time between June and September. I can’t wait!
Gears Tactics

Like the name suggests, this is a tactical take on the Gears of War series with X-Com-like gameplay and stunning visuals. If you’re a fan of the series and genre, this is a no-brainer. The game will come out on April 28, 2020.
Naraka: Bladepoint

Samurai are so hot right now. This game - which looks strikingly similar to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is developed by Chinese developer Netease, and will arrive sometime in 2020.
Nine to Five

Nine to Five is an all-new tactical first-person shooter somewhat reminiscent of Rainbow Six Siege. The trailer has a pretty whacky intro - who knows if the rest of the game will end up the same way.
New World

This strange new game is Amazon Studios’ upcoming MMO game. The company is certainly big enough to pump enough money into making a full-fledged MMO - but this CGI trailer doesn’t give us much insight into what the actual game will look like.
Convergence: A League of Legends Story

Another one of Riot’s singleplayer League of Legends games - but we have significantly less details for this one. It’s currently in development for consoles and PC.
The Wolf Among Us 2

Bigby and Snow make their grand return the second season of Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us - a game that has developed quite a cult following over the years. Telltale recently shut down, but has since been rebuilt by new staff and management - so who knows if this will live up to the quality of the first game.
Fast and Furious Crossroads

And finally… Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez took to the Game Awards stage to announce a brand new Fast and Furious game. It’s not exactly the explosive final announcement fans were expecting, but it does star actors from the films - so maybe those fans will be pleased? Yeah, it’s a weird one to end on.
