You can now use your DBS Rewards Points to redeem in-game credits on supported platforms

You’ll have to convert those points to Mastercard’s Gamer Exchange Points first, though.

Shopping, food, travel miles. Those are the things you’d usually associate a bank’s rewards programme with. While it’s nice to redeem these luxuries every once in a while, the list of places where you can spend those points can get a bit stale, especially if your hobbies or interests lie elsewhere.

If you’re a DBS customer, though, a new category of rewards for gaming has opened up.

To be precise, the bank is utilising Mastercard Gamer Exchange, which converts your rewards points into proprietary “Gamer Exchange Points” which can, in turn, be converted to different in-game credits and currencies.

As you’re working with three different points systems (DBS Rewards Points, Gamer Exchange Points and in-game currency), the process is a bit elaborate. But essentially, it goes like this:

  • Convert your DBS Rewards Points to Mastercard Gamer Exchange Points on DBS’s PayLah! app or on the DBS Rewards webpage.
  • Receive an SMS with an e-Voucher code and a 4 digit PIN.
  • Enter the e-Voucher code and 4 digit PIN on the Gamer Exchange website at checkout. The e-Voucher value will be credited to your game account.

You can redeem Gamer Exchange Points straight from DBS for EA Sports FC Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings, as well as popular HoYoverse games Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail. You can also redeem points for Steam, Xbox and Roblox stores.

Alternatively, there’s also an option to redeem standard Mastercard Gamer Exchange Points. They can be spent on the Gamer Exchange website which supports a couple more games and platforms (including the PlayStation Store). Currently, you can use 1,300 DBS Rewards Points to redeem 2,000 game-specific Gamer Exchange Points or standard Gamer Exchange Points.
