Friday fun: How the Gillette Labs x Razer "gamer" razor brought back some memories

So there I was, making my first grocery round of 2024 when I came upon this Gillette Labs x Razer shaver collaboration, which I didn't even know was a thing that's apparently been around since August 2023.
My first thought was why didn't anyone think of this earlier, but then realised it was such a missed opportunity because the Razer razor was just a cosmetic green skin on a standard Gillette shaver. Even though it was part of the more experimental Gillette Labs line, there were no powered RBG lighting, no Synapse connectivity, no special teflon-coated zero-friction gamer-grade shaving blades, no contoured ergonomic precision handle for perfect grip tension. And we still have no Razer toaster either, maybe there's hope yet as CES 2024 is just around the corner.
In light of this disappointment, I opted to go down memory lane to the time Gillette Labs actually sent us the amazing Heated Razor for review. It's incredibly expensive for a manual shaver, but over the years, it has remained one of the best pieces of personal "tech" I've used on my face, even compared to fancier electronic shavers like the Philips S9000 Prestige. Remember, this was the very same Gillette Labs Heated Razor that came closest in all of HardwareZone history to getting our Editor-in-Chief Vijay Anand to shave off his iconic stache.
