Intel has shared details about their next generation Atom processor. The company said there are at least nine manufacturers who will be releasing their devices built around a dual-core, 1.8GHz Atom Z2760 CPU that is very similar to the Medfield chip used in smartphones.

The local office of Intel organized a media update this morning to keep us abreast of the company's technology development and innovation, with special attention paid to Ultrabooks powered by its third generation Intel Core processors.
Intel is actively developing a palm vein reading technology that it hopes will replace the need for passwords in the future. This technology was recently demonstrated at IDF 2012 by Intel director of security research, Mr. Sridhar Iyengar.

Motorola and Intel are sending out invites for an event on 18 September in London. It is highly likely that they will be launching an Android smartphone powered by the Medfield processor.
Intel plans to launch its next generation of Atom processors, which are based on 22nm microarchitecture, as early as Q4 of this year. According to CPU World, these 22nm chips are named 'Silvermont' and are intended to replace Intel's current generation of 32nm 'Clover Trail' chips
