ASRock has just announced two of its AMD FM2+ motherboards have been certified to support AMD 2400MHz+ AMP (AMD Memory Profile). This means with the selection of a BIOS setting, and supported memory modules, their operating frequencies can be set easily.

An alleged photo of the AMD A10-7850 ‘Kaveri’ APU has been leaked by the Japanese website Hermitage Akihabara. Besides its picture, the site also published the screenshots of the CPU-Z and GPU-Z utilities, revealing more technical specifications of the soon-to-be-launched chip.

MSI has just announced its full range of AMD FM2+ motherboards that feature Military Class IV components. These boards not only support the new Steamroller core Kaveri APUs, they are also backward compatible with older FM2 Richland and Kabini APUs.

A team of Stanford researchers has unveiled a computer that is built entirely on carbon nanotube (CNT) transistors. These tubes are actually a form of carbon with excellent on-again off-again electrical properties. Their efforts show that CNT chips may be able to replace silicon-based ones in the future.

According to motherboard makers, AMD's upcoming new CPUs utilizing the FM2+ socket design will only be compatible with new FM2+ motherboards. However, the new FM2+ motherboards will be backwards compatible with FM2 APUs.

CPU World has reported the availability of the AMD FX-9370 and FX-9590 CPUs in the United States. The eight-core AMD FX-9590 is able to reach a clock speed of 5GHz due to its Turbo Core feature. However, it is reported that both processors have an extreme high thermal design power (TDP) of 220W!

AMD has just announced its first ARM-based server processor, codenamed 'Seattle' that will feature ARM Cortex-A57 cores. It will be available initially as an 8-core processor, with a 16-core version to follow later. Volume production of the chip is slated for the second quarter of 2014.
