Would You Like a Side of Junkware with Your Java?
Not only is Java notoriously insecure, it seems that Oracle is packing third-party apps to install alongside with Java and its updates. Ed Bott of Zdnet has unearthed that third-party software is always included with Java's automatic updater for Windows, specifically the Ask Toolbar and McAfee Security Scanner.

Oracle's Latest Security Patch for Java Not 100% Foolproof
Last week, Oracle released an out-of-band emergency update to address vulnerability issues in its Java software framework. However, its efforts seemed in vain as security researchers pointed out that new vulnerabilities had been found as the patch failed to address the root cause of the problem.

Apple Pushes Out Java Security Updates (Updated)
Apple has just released Java for OS X Lion 2012–003 and Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8. Available for Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion and 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, they remove the most common variants of the Flashback malware, and supersede all previous versions of Java for OS X Lion and Java for Mac OS X 10.6.

Google Responds to Oracle Java Lawsuit
