Fujifilm has announced the successors to their high-end X100 and X10 cameras with the X100S and the X20. Both cameras come with Fujifilm's newly developed X-Trans CMOS II sensor, which Fujifilm says can increase resolution by 25% and reduce image noise by more than 30%.
Panasonic has introduced ten new digital compact cameras at CES 2013. Most come with 16.1 megapixels as standard, two cameras come with Wi-Fi and NFC (Near Field Communication) built in. Click through to see the power-hitters in Panasonic's latest.

Canon has just announced the PowerShot S110, a curiously minor update to last year's flagship S100 digital compact camera. The two cameras are nearly identical to each other, the only major differences are the S110's new Wi-Fi and touchscreen features, and the exclusion of the built-in GPS found on the S100.
Fujifilm is on a roll with its retro-inspired digital cameras, continuing with today's announcement of the XF1. The XF1 looks so good you want to lick it, and packs a bright f/1.8-f/4.9 Fujinon lens with a 2/3" EXR CMOS sensor, inside a sturdy body made from aluminium with faux leather.

The new Cyber-shot DSC-WX170 packs a 10x optical zoom lens, a 3.0-inch high-resolution touchscreen, and an 18.2-megapixel CMOS sensor into a body measuring just 17.6mm at its thinnest point. This petite camera also shoots full HD videos in the AVCHD format.

Olympus has announced a brand-new high-end Tough camera named the TG-1. While Olympus has long pioneered a series of rugged Tough cameras for the adventurous photographer, the TG-1 is a little different: It's aiming to be the cream of the Tough cameras crop, with impressive specs marrying the shock-proof and weather-proof case.

Some users of the Fujifilm X10 have reported seeing an artifact in their images. Looking like white orbs, the artifact appears when shooting in certain lighting conditions. Fujifilm released a firmware update (version 1.03) a couple of weeks ago and Dpreview has conducted an extensive investigation into whether it resolves the issue.
