A leaked press image of the international version of HTC J Butterfly (also known as Droid DNA in the U.S) suggests that the 5-inch Android smartphone may be hitting global markets soon.

Spotted on Sina Weibo earlier this week are three screenshots that showed off the company's own Android UI in 1080p, pointing to allegations that Lenovo will be launching a smartphone device with a 5.0-inch screen.
The Korean company is alleged to be showcasing a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 441ppi pixel density at CES 2013.

Huawei is the latest in a string of major Android manufacturers jumping on the 5.0-inch and above bandwagon with its latest device, the Ascend D2. The device was recently showcased in China and will be sold there in early 2013.

A Japanese blog has shown Sony Mobile's rumored flagship C650 phone (codenamed Odin) spotting a 5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The device is said to make its first official appearance at CES next year.

We all know that the HTC J Butterfly smartphone, in all its 5-inch Super LCD 3, 440ppi glory, was recently unveiled in Japan. Now, Android Central has posted leaked images showing what is possibly a US/Verizon version of the J Butterfly called the HTC DLX (short for HTC Deluxe).

Some European users have reported that the multi-tasking mode is missing on their Galaxy Note II units. According to Phone Central, "international units... ship with the earlier firmware, and don't have the multiwindow option yet".

Samsung has started sending out press invites for an exclusive launch in New York on the 24th of October. The press invite showcases a picture of a stylus, which gives us a lot of reason to suspect that "The Next Big Thing" is indeed the Galaxy Note II.

The rumored 5.0-inch Galaxy S 4 is said to make its first appearance at next year's Mobile World Congress event and be released globally in March, an ambitious timeline the company wishes to adhere to after the unveiling of Apple's iPhone 5 event. Since then, Samsung has dismissed the rumor.
