The Stylus XZ-2 is Olympus' new flagship digital compact camera, succeeding the nearly two-year old XZ-1. We discover what's new about the camera, and have a frank discussion with Seiki Yamamoto of Olympus about the state of the camera industry.
Together with the Olympus Pen Lite E-PL5, Olympus is announcing three new lenses (sort of) for Micro Four Thirds. The 17mm f/1.8 is brand new, the 60mm f/2.8 macro lens gets a release date and the 12mm f/2.0 is coming in limited black.
Olympus has announced a brand-new Pen Lite E-PL5, with the same 16MP and TruePic VI image processing engine used by the flagship OM-D E-M5. Together with a new swivel touchscreen monitor, it looks like this entry-level camera will punch high above its weight.

Kipon, a China-based photography accessories maker, has announced that it has developed two electronic adapters for mounting Canon EF lenses on Sony Alpha NEX and Micro Four Thirds-based mirrorless camera bodies.

Olympus has announced a brand-new high-end Tough camera named the TG-1. While Olympus has long pioneered a series of rugged Tough cameras for the adventurous photographer, the TG-1 is a little different: It's aiming to be the cream of the Tough cameras crop, with impressive specs marrying the shock-proof and weather-proof case.

Last year, Michael Woodford, the first non-Japanese to become the CEO of Olympus, confronted Japanese Olympus executives and board members over questionable deals and was then promptly dismissed by the board. He then went to the press, and the ensuring firestorm has seen arrests of Olympus' previous CEO (among others) and a US$10 million lost blamed on the accounting scandal.

Olympus Australia has published five new videos of the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Micro Four Thirds camera in action. One of the most interesting features, five axis image stabilization, is clearly demonstrated in the videos, as well as the new shadow/highlight controls inside the electronic viewfinder.
