BitTorrent's Project Maelstrom browser has now entered the beta phase and is available for public download on its website. The P2P browser allows websites to be hosted on individual PCs and utilizes BitTorrent's distributed technology to reduce dependence on centralized servers.

BitTorrent Search Website Isohunt to Shut Down; Will Pay MPAA US$110 million

Popular BitTorrent search website Isohunt has agreed today to shutdown all of its operations worldwide after losing its legal battle against the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America). The company, founded by Canadian Gary Fung, has also agreed to pay the movie studios that sued it US$110 million.
