Larry Page who took over as Google's CEO in April, is working hard at streamlining the company to make it more efficient as well as dropping projects that aren't successful enough.
Google has just announced that they will be discontinuing their Gmail App for BlackBerry devices. While the current application will still be available for download until the 22nd of November 2011, no future versions of the application will be released.

The new update for Google's web browser Chrome 15 has been moved into the Stable Channel and has been rolled out for users. Although you will not be prompted to update as of yet, the new version can be downloaded manually.

Google has been in touch with two private equity firms to potentially help them finance a buyout of Yahoo. Or the move might be an elaborate ploy to make Microsoft pay over the top for the same company.
With Microsoft and Compal entering a patent licensing agreement for patents under the Google Android portfolio, this means that companies accounting for over half of all Android devices are now covered under Microsoft's patent license agreements.
