While the Google Chromecast officially supports media from the Google Play store, Netflix and YouTube, there are third-party apps that allow users to stream their personal media to a TV. However a recent Chromecast update has disabled this feature, casting doubt on whether the Chromecast will officially support this feature.

The Google+ Photos app, previously only available on Google's flagship Chromebook Pixel, is now available on all Chromebooks. It's an app that automatically extracts and uploads photos to your Google+ account from storage media (SD card) inserted into the Chromebook.

Google services suffered a brief 5-minute outage early morning last Saturday at approximately 07:32am. According to GoSquared, a web traffic analytics company, this outage caused a 40% drop in global Internet traffic.

With the new Nexus 7 and Moto X now official, the attention now turns to the successors of the existing Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet. According to rumors, they would be made by Motorola and ASUS respectively.
Acer President, Jim Wang stated that the company will be offering less Microsoft products, while producing more Android products, as well as Chromebooks. This comes as the company posted a significant second quarter loss due to lower sales and rising expenses.
Google has just released the factory image of their new Nexus 7 tablet, just like they had for previous iterations. In addition, the driver binaries for the Nexus 7 have also been made available to the public for download.

Google is currently testing touch-friendly features on the test build of its Chrome Browser. In its latest build (nightly Canary build), a slide-to-navigate feature had been discovered. This feature allows users to simply swipe to navigate between web pages.
