SingTel has clinched an exclusive deal with Fifa, to bring the 2014 FIFA World Cup to all television and mobile screens in Singapore. Under the MDA's cross-carriage regulation, SingTel has to distribute the content with StarHub, like how it has been sharing its BPL (Barclays Premier League) content.

Catering to customers aged 55 and above, these 4G-enabled plans offer a discount off the regular monthly subscription of SingTel’s SuperLite and Lite plans, as well as a selection of handsets at no extra charge.

SingTel will offer the Xiaomi Redmi free with a 2-year subscription plan to its Lite, Value, Plus, and Prestige mobile plans, or S$68 with the SuperLite plan. You can also purchase the mobile device without contract at S$169.

A SingTel spokesperson has confirmed to HardwareZone that a server glitch caused intermittent mobile data access for some customers at approximately 11.05AM. All data services were normalized within 20 minutes.
