The Lumia 640 and the 640 XL are powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. Out of the box, both run Windows Phone 8.1 OS with the Lumia Denim; but they're also upgradeable to Windows 10 when the OS drops later this year.

Microsoft announced two new additions to its Windows Phone mid-range line-up today with the announcement of the 5-inch Lumia 640 and the 5.7-inch Lumia 640 XL. Both phones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHZ processor, with 1GB RAM and will come with a 1-year subscription to Office 365.
