Titan Debuts with NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, Boasting Peak Performance of 20 Petaflops
Titan, touted as the world's first open-source supercomputer, made its debut at the Oak Ridge Labs in the United States. Titan is 20 times faster than Jaguar, its predecessor, as the former is capable of a peak performance of 20 petaflops - 20 million billion floating-point operations per second.

AMD Awarded US$12.6 Million in Supercomputing Grants from US Government
AMD has been granted US$ $12.6 million under the FastForward program. The program is a joint effort between the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Department of Energy to advance research of exascale computers that are a 1000 times faster than current supercomputers.
