Panasonic's Plasma TV business may be dead, but according to Panasonic Consumer Electronics President, Julie Bauer, that doesn't mean Plasma-quality TVs are dead. The company unveiled a new 4K TV at CES 2014 today, which Bauer claims will deliver "plasma level quality with LED technology."

Scientists at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) have developed a new means of high-speed data transmission using LED lightbulbs. The technology uses standard off-the-shelf LED room lights for data transmission, with speeds of up to 3 Gbps possible.
