Search giant Google has acquired Clever Sense, a Silicon Valley-based startup that develops the mobile app "Alfred". This acquisition seems to hint of Google's intentions to counter Apple's Siri on its Android platform.

Marcus Schappi, an Australian software developer, has revealed how he used a few relatively inexpensive components to hack the iPhone 4S voice recognition app Siri, enabling him to use voice commands to turn his house lights on and off and open web pages on his computer.

A survey carried out by ChangeWave Research revealed that the Apple iPhone 4S received the highest level of satisfaction ever for an iPhone model. Users also ranked Siri as their most liked feature but were unhappy about its short battery life.
