LG Electronics is aiming to sell about 75 million phones this year, of which 45 million will be smartphones and the other 30 million will be feature phones. The company is also developing smartphones that are running on Windows Phone 8.

Alcatel announced the world's thinnest smartphone at CES 2013. Known as the One Touch Idol Ultra, the device measures a mere 6.45mm thin despite packing quite an impressive suite of hardware and software features.

Qualcomm has announced its answers to NVIDIA's next-gen Tegra 4 processor, the quad-core Snapdragon 800 and 600 processors. Both processors will be available in commercial devices by mid-year and Q2 2013 respectively.
