Earlier this month, Adobe announced that its network had been hacked, and that the attackers had accessed customer IDs, encrypted passwords and possibly encrypted credit and debit card numbers of 2.9 million of its customers. The company now says that it could have impacted up to 38 million users instead.

Adobe has just announced a special offer for existing owners of Photoshop CS3 and above, to join its Creative Cloud service for only S$13 a month. This price is for eligible customers who sign up before 31 December this year. At the same time, the roadmap of Photoshop CC and Lightroom was unveiled.

Adobe dropped a major surprise in May when it announced that the next generation of its Creative Suite software will be available only on a subscription basis. That update, which re-brands all of Creative Suite (CS) to Creative Cloud (CC), is now live and available in Singapore.

Adobe today released Photoshop Lightroom 5, which includes new features like an advanced healing brush, radial filter, upright perspective tool and space-saving Smart Previews. The new version costs US$149 for a perpetual license and US$79 to upgrade from a previous version of Lightroom.

Adobe Product Manager Tom Hogarty has confirmed in a Google+ Hangout that Adobe has "no plans to make Lightroom subscription-only at any point in the future", in contrast to the rest of Adobe Creative Cloud apps which will be subscription only going forward.

Adobe surprised everyone today by revealing the Projects Mighty and Napoleon hardware prototypes. The Mighty is Adobe's take on a cloud-connected stylus, while the Napoleon is a new kind of digital stencil; the projects are an attempt to digitise the creative workflow from pen and paper to stylus and tablet.
