AMD has announced three new game developer partnerships for AMD Gaming Evolved, an ISV relationship program that assists developers in creating an enhanced PC gaming experience. They are: Rebellion Developments, Square Enix and Xaviant.

Sporting a design that reminisces the MSI Lightning series, the new card comes with 2 x 8-pin and 1 x 6-pin power connectors on board, guaranteeing a minimum of 450W available for overclocking. Also, the TriFrozr Thermal Design has been improved to dissipate heat more efficiently from the GPU and on-board components.

They also support AMD CrossFire for enhanced performance using multiple cards in a suitable CrossFire-enabled mainboard and AMD APP Acceleration.
AMD has announced the availability of AMD Catalyst 14.2 Beta for Windows OS, as launch drivers for Thief. The new drivers promise graphical effects exclusive to the said game title, as well as improvements that include better support for the Mantle API, and multi-GPU frame pacing for Battlefield 3 and 4 titles.

AMD has officially launched the Radeon R9 280 graphics card that was conspicuously missing from the R9 lineup. The Radeon R9 and R7 graphics cards were first announced in November last year. The Radeon R9 280 is viewed as a replacement for the existing Tahiti Pro-based Radeon HD 7950.
