In light of the recent earthquake in Nepal, Facebook has activated its Safety Check tool to allow users to quickly check to see if their friends are alright. It will also match donations made to the International Medical Corps. via its Donate feature.

An Austrian privacy activist has launched an international class action lawsuit against Facebook for breaching European data protection law. Anyone outside of the US and Canada with a Facebook account can join the lawsuit which is seeking damages of €500 per user.
