Just a few hours ago, ASUS Singapore held a pre-order promotion for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Though the S$699 pre-order has closed once it reached the first 100 sales, we now know that the Android tablet will be priced at S$899.

ASUS' next-gen netbooks, dubbed as the ASUS Eee PC Flare, has been leaked ahead of CES 2012. The netbooks are expected to be powered by Intel's latest N2600, N2800 Atom CPU lineup, while a 12-inch model with AMD's Fusion APU line will also make an appearance.

Notebook Italia obtained an image of a 7-inch ASUS Eee Pad tablet, which seemed to have a different design from the rest of the Eee Pad tablets. ASUS is rumored to announce the new tablet at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 next week.

Analysts have predicted that Apple will lose their share of the ultra-portable segment, currently dominated by the Macbook Air, which makes up an estimated 49% of all Apple notebook sales. This prediction is reliant on the Ultrabook (as per Intel's specifications) segment picking up speed in 2012.
