Nikon Announces New 50mm f/1.8 Lens with Silent Wave Motor
Nikon has announced a brand new AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G lens, which updates the 2002 AF 50mm f/1.8D lens. The new lens comes with a built-in Silent Wave Motor (SWM), which means it can be used with both FX and DX cameras as well as entry-level DX cameras like the D5100 which don't come with auto-focus motors built in.

Nikon D5100 US Price Confirmed
While we're still waiting for the Nikon D5100's local price to be confirmed, according to Engadget the camera has started selling in the United States's Best Buy stores for US$900, while Amazon is taking pre-orders for US$800.
