In the first quarter of 2013, Apple managed to regain fifth place in the Chinese mobile market with an eight percent market share. For the last two quarters in 2012, it was languishing in 6th place, while Samsung remained firmly in the top spot with a 20 percent market share.

Samsung today announced that Samsung Knox-enabled devices have been approved by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for use in DoD networks. The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has finished successful testing of Samsung Knox devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 with LTE will be available in Singapore from 27 April 2013, at $998, without contract, in Black Mist and White Frost.
Samsung has admitted to hiring students in Taiwan to post fake online reviews slamming the phones of arch-rival HTC and are now facing investigations of false advertising. Samsung called the incident "unfortunate and occurred due to insufficient understanding of these fundamental principles."

Samsung has launched the NX300 mirrorless camera, its new flagship model in its NX-series of compact system cameras, as well as the new NX 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens, the one-lens 3D system capable of capturing both still images and full HD movies in 2D or 3D.

The Samsung Galaxy Express will be available in white, at S$598 (without contract), starting tomorrow, 6 April. A 4G LTE smartphone designed for the young social explorer, the device is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Samsung has just put its 10nm 128Gb (gigabit) 3-bit multi-cell NAND flash into mass production. The new flash chip will enable higher density flash memory cards and SSDs.
