Samsung has agreed to a patent cross-licensing deal with Microsoft, related to a series of patent infringement by the Google Android operating system employed by Samsung's portfolio.
It is a no-go for MeeGo project as Tizen, a new Linux-based open source mobile operating system, is announced by Linux Foundation as the former's replacement.

Samsung today announces the launch of the Samsung Omnia W, its first smartphone based on the latest release of Microsoft's Windows Phone, code-named Mango.
IBM, together with Intel, Globalfoundries Inc., Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and Samsung Electronics will jointly invest US$4.4 billion to create a hub that does next-generation computer chip technologies.
With the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update around the corner, there's no lack of new devices announced alongside the Microsoft update. One such phone is the Samsung Omnia W.

Samsung may deploy more aggressive tactics against Apple after legal setbacks in Germany and The Netherlands. The Korean-based company will move to have Apple's next-generation iPhone banned from sale in Korea following EU-wide injunctions issued against Samsung's tablets and smartphones.
