As previously reported, two versions of the A9 processor can be found inside the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, one made by Samsung, and one made by TSMC. Initial reports showed slight differences between the two chipsets. However, new tests have shown that the TSMC chip may have up to two hours better battery life than Samsung's.

Chipworks reports that there are actually two different sized A9 processors in the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. One of them is manufactured by Samsung while the other is built by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
